Meylemans Somers Diamondcutters (MSD), a renowned name in Antwerp's diamond industry, has recently moved into a new office and workshop. After 15 years of operating on the ground floor of the Kneller building, the need for expansion became apparent. Danny Meylemans and Eva Van Looveren of the MSD team share insights into this significant move.

"The increasing production and the necessity for more space for advanced cutting machines, polishing robots, and state-of-the-art measuring and scanning technologies compelled us to seek a new location," explains Danny Meylemans. "In early 2023, we purchased an office with a licensed diamond cutting facility in the ADC Building, where we became operational in September 2023 following an intensive renovation period of over six months."

“When designing our new facilities, we took into account the combination of high-tech craftsmanship and expertise that characterizes our company”

For MSD, optimizing the production process was central to the design of the new office and workshop. "When designing our new facilities, we took into account the combination of high-tech craftsmanship and expertise that characterizes our company," Danny continues. "Every step in the production process has been carefully planned and optimized, with a strong focus on customer engagement."

"We have noticed greater satisfaction among our customers due to their direct involvement in the cutting and polishing process," Danny adds. "By regularly consulting with them on decisions regarding the outcome, we can maintain open and honest communication."

In addition to enhancing customer engagement, MSD has also made significant efforts to optimize the working environment for its employees. "We have ensured tailored lighting, sound insulation, and ample space in the work areas, greatly improving the work experience," explains Eva Van Looveren.

With a continued focus on innovation and precision in scanning and polishing techniques, MSD remains steadfast in its position as a market leader in the diamond industry. "We continuously invest in new technologies and refine our processes to achieve the best possible results," says Eva.

Interested people are welcome to visit MSD's new office and workshop, where they can observe the diamond production process first hand. "We hope to continue sharing our extensive knowledge and experience with our customers and attract new talent," concludes Danny Meylemans, "while striving to maintain a pleasant working environment in our renovated facilities."
